Some Fun with Tiger Woods

Posted by Double Eagle in Miscellaneous

Someone from EA Sports dropped me a line with a couple of cool Tiger Woods video ads. These clips have been circulating the web recently surrounding the release of the new Tiger Woods ‘09 game.  They both gave me a laugh and I’m a fan of the game, so I thought I’d share them in case anyone hasn’t seen them.

Tiger Woods ‘09 is in stores now.

Good call, Kevin! I’m ashamed that I didn’t notice that, being such a rules geek. I think I was too much in awe.

Being Canadian I can walk on water a few month each year. Mind you we call it ice :). That was the first I saw the square peg in a round hole video.

I haven’t walked on frozen water in a while and I miss it ;)

The square peg video is great! I was trying to decide if it was doctored or not. I can’t tell, but it is TW we’re talking about after all, so it’s probably first take, no special effects.

It reminds me of the Nike commercial he did several years back where he was bouncing the ball on the wedge. Everyone assumed it was special effects, but it turned out that not only was it 100% real, it was also done in a single take.

I laughed so hard when I saw that. How great that a company can take a glitch, admitting a mistake, and turn it into a promotional tool for their next version. Genius!

I love my Tiger Woods 08, especially since I can’t golf for real every day!

  • Is the Next Putting Grip the Best Putting Grip?
  • I’m always fascinated at the number of different variations of putting grips I see.  It isn’t just down at my local course, either.

Tune in to any PGA Tour event and look at the number of variations you see.  Fingers overlapped and interlocked in different ways.  Hands rotated around the shaft to different degrees.  And that’s just variations on the conventional grip.

Then you have all sorts of unconventional grips:  left hand low, the claw, the saw.  There seems to be a [...]
