2009 PGA Merchandise Show Roundup
Posted by Double Eagle in Miscellaneous
Last year, I promised myself I was going to attend the PGA merchandise show this year. Unfortunately, it didn’t happen, but I’m really resolved to go next year. Seriously. No, really. I mean it.
Luckily, many of my favorite golf bloggers made the trip and I’ve been following their coverage since the show started on the 27th. I thought it would be a good idea to summarize it all so you can get an idea of what’s coming down the pipe in the world of golf for 2009.
Here are some of my favorite highlights.
Rob from Golf Views really put a lot of effort into covering this year’s show. He twittered a ton from the show to let everyone know what was going on. Check out his tweets from the week here. In addition, he covered the new Bushnell PinPro laser range finder, interviewed LPGA Tour player Sandra Gal, and covered the outdoor demo day.
The Armchair Golfer spent a couple of days at the show and gave a great summary. You can read about his first day here and his second day here. He also posted great coverage of the Annika Sorenstam talk sponsored by Callaway.
The Golf Girl spent a day at the show and let her passion for fashion shine and posted a collage of photos from the show. She promises a stylish story this weekend, so be sure to check in later.
Tony from the Hooked on Golf Blog continued his tradition of excellent coverage from the show. In keeping with his rule number one of “take lots of photos”, he’s created a gallery from the show. He also published a bunch of videos from the Ogio booth, an interview with Duffy Waldorf about his wife’s company Gogie Girl, coverage of Mibrella golf umbrellas, an interview with Clay Long from Nicklaus golf, and an interview with Jesse Ortiz from Bobby Jones Golf.
For those of you that use Twitter, there were a ton of tweets from the show throughout the week. Many twitterers used the #PGAShow hashtag created by Phil Bundy (who has also promised his own recap of the show – stay tuned), which you can see the timeline of by clicking here. On a side note, you can follow me on twitter here.
That covers most of my favorites. I’m sure more updates and posts will be trickling in for the rest of the weekend, so keep an eye out in the blogosphere. I’m really regretting not having gone, especially as I sit here in the cold with snow on the ground. I’m looking forward to going to my first show next year.
