I see what you mean about practicing chipping… I have practiced getting out of a sand trap the same way and I think I finally got that part down, the plan for next spring is to mainly concentrate again on chipping. This year was mostly putting and sand practice, I started in the high 70 and now I shoot in the low seventies most of the time, and yes my short game is where I need the most practice- good article.

I still just trying to learn how to hit the ball correctly. I have a brand new set of x20 that have been used 4 times in 2 years. Chipping is something i have to work on next.

I have been working particularly hard on my short game since that is the way to improve my score the most. I probably spend more time on it than at the rsnge hitting balls. It has helped tremendously as I am now shooting in the low 80′s almost every time out. Excellent article once again.

I’m glad you touched on chipping. My short game is definitely right up there with putting as being my biggest weakness. I have never heard that you can never really be too close, I think that alone with a straighter take away will really help. I think the biggest thing that has helped me out is picking a target to land my ball. I find myself not really thinking my chips through sometimes and although my swing might not be that bad, my management was terrible. Good luck out there!
