Goals are nothing without a plan for achieving them. Here is where I keep my various plans for success.
- Fitness Plan
- Golf/Practice Plan
- Diet Plan
These will change over time, but are great for keeping me focused on the task at hand. Each day, I know what I need to accomplish. Most likely, changes will occur as I discover weaknesses. But I also anticipate changes when winter approaches.
As I was developing these plans, I started to wonder how I’d go about quantifying whether or not the plan is working for me. A plan that isn’t working can be a sign that I’m just not committed, or that the plan itself is flawed. For instance it could be too much to handle or incomplete. To track how I execute my plans, I created an activity log and a diet log that shows how I did every day in regards to my fitness, golf, and diet plans.
A note about the logs: My point isn’t to tell you what you should do, only to chronicle what I’m doing so that you can learn from how I plan, no so much what the actual plan is. Also, I don’t intend for these logs to be constantly updated every day until I leave this earth. My purpose is to log my activity/diet at times when I feel that I need to check on myself, so I can re-evaluate my plans. It won’t be uncommon to see long stretches with no updates or stretches of updates that only last a week or two. It’s all about gaining a little knowledge to use for refinement.
